Stella Island Luxury Resort & Spa

Stella Island’s adults only (age 15 and up) resort is tailor-made for couples and honeymooners. Water is the over-arching theme of Stella Island, and it has the feel of an ultra-clean, tropical version of Venice.

Opening as a brand-new resort in 2017, Stella Island’s unique configuration features a concrete lagoon pool snaking its way throughout the resort, with the effect that all its swim up rooms and bungalows are on the water.

Ingenious small islets planted with palms are connected one to another with a boardwalk-style footbridge following the configuration of the lagoon and allowing access for guests to every corner of the resort.. Customers love the spacious, modern rooms which make abundant use of natural materials, the friendly, helpful staff, the abundant use of colored, indirect lighting in the bars and restaurants, and the photogenic beauty of the resort, described as an ‘instagrammer’s paradise.’

Rooms

Rooms feature the pinnacle of elegance and kinetic space, walk-in showers, some of the best sleeping mattresses on the market, and abundant closet space, in addition to many more amenities such as, in some rooms, Jacuzzis, spa treatments, and luxury services.

Luxury Pool View Rooms

The Luxury Pool View Rooms are at the top of the main building and afford a nice panoramic view of the entire resort. Rooms feature 32” flat screen TVs, satellite channels, wifi, bathrobes, and a large double bed.

Premium Pool View Rooms

The Premium Pool View rooms afford a great views of the lagoon from its private balcony, double (queen-sized) or twin beds, sofa bed, a spacious sitting area, rattan lamp shades, luxury toiletries, bathrobes and slippers, safe, mini bar, and individual air conditioning.

Premium Swim Up & Luxury Swim Up Rooms

Direct pool access, sun loungers on the deck, master bedroom with Queen-sized bed, a sofa bed, walk-in shower, and two sinks in the bathroom are just a few of the features of these rooms. Luxury swim up rooms are slightly smaller, but with similar features and direct access to the lagoon pool.

Over Water Bungalows

Featuring blond wood, exposed ceiling beams, and floor to ceiling glass doors, the Over Water bungalows have a sundeck from which guests can step down into the lagoon pool for a refreshing midday swim.

Island Villas with Private Pool

These Villas are configured an a long, narrow, “shotgun” style floor plan, with a private pool and stone privacy walls bordering the unit. Close to the main building and all that it offers, the Island Villas include a Jacuzzi, deck-side sun chairs and table for relaxing evenings under the stars, free-standing flat screen TV, blue granite sink and bathtub, and premium bathroom amenities.

The Grand Overwater Bungalow with Jacuzzi

This new bungalow offers lots of space and lots of luxury, including an on-deck Jacuzzi. The bungalow features a pitched ceiling, exposed woodwork, rattan details, complementary bath amenities, beach towels, and bottle of wine, private wooden deck, soundproof windows, and much, much more. Step off the deck and into the pool, then dry off whilst lounging on the over-water hammock.

Food and Drink

Stella Island offers the perfect combination of gourmet dining, featuring popular international and local cuisine, to the accompaniment of understated background music with views of the water providing a feast for the eyes.

Kimata (Waves)- Creative Buffet. The name comes from the restaurant’s proximity to the water, as well as the innovative flowing, curved wooden ceiling scheme which mirrors the action of the sea. The dazzling Cretan sunlight floods into the dining room through the glass walls, as you enjoy watching the food prep, and then eat either indoors or out on the deck overlooking the pool. Open for breakfast (featuring an American buffer), lunch (International buffet) and dinner. A rich variety of dessert fruits and sweets are also available.

Oceania - Art Cuisines. Experience an exquisite selection of Mediterranean dishes in a romantic setting with panoramic views of the Resort. This rooftop restaurant is the ultimate place to enjoy the sunset in Crete while tasting exceptional tastes and eclectic wine from its cellar.

Vegera - Cretan Stories. Get a ‘taste of Crete’ in olive tree-landscaped surroundings next to the St. Andreas chapel while you indulge in locally-sourced organic vegetable, fruits in season, wild greens and herbs from nearby Psiloriti mountain, plus other traditional Cretan fare. Cabana - Cocktails & Bites is the quietly elegant poolside lounge bar that serenades you all day long with music and tempts you with some of the tastiest concoctions in Crete, which can be had whilst lounging poolside. At Stella Island you can fill your days by just sitting near the pool hanging out with your favorite book. If that gets a little repetitious, there are all kinds of activities you can engage in. The Sports Center is hom for games and group activites including tennis, beach-volley, football, mini golf. There are also plenty of group activities such as yoga, TRX, zumba, aerobics etc.

Hersonissos itself is home to all kinds of activities such as go-carts, parachuting, jet skiing, bungee jumping, football, scuba-diving in addition to all kinds of water-sports such as water skiing, parasailing, banana, ringos or a pedalo, and many other.

Other popular activities in Hersonissos include Horse Riding, Mountain biking and Trekking. These are also a great way to explore the region. Not too far away you can find the Cretaquarium, and the ruins of the ancient palace at Knossos, among many other marvels Crete has to offer. In addition, the always hopping town of Limenas Chersonisou is 10 minutes away, with the capital, Heralklion, 20 minutes away.
