Food and Drink

The renovated main restaurant and seven a la carte restaurants offer a tremendous variety in dining options. Michelin-starred chef Leftheris Lazarou’s painstakingly designed menu choices include kids’ menus and vegetarian options.

Conveniently located bars and snack bars insure that wherever you are in the resort, a thirst-slaking cold drink or delightful cocktail in a beautiful setting is just meters away.

The Poseidon Restaurant offers fine Mediterranean dining, with its menu designed by Michelin star chef Laftheris Lazarou. Dishes run the gamut from appetizers crab guacamole and octopus carpaccio, to beetroot salad, moving on to a main course menu featuring leg of lamb and risotto with crayfish, and finishing with mouth watering dessert items lemon tarts with Italian meringue and chocolatesphere with kaimaki-flavoured ice cream. An abundant selection of Greek and Italian wines are also on offer.

The Artemis Main Restaurant offers buffet breakfasts, lunches, and dinners with a wide selection of food and drink options including fresh fruit, fresh-squeezed juices, to more traditional local fare.

The Azzuro Italian Restaurant provides a taste of Italy in Greece with its fresh pizzas with wide variety of topping choices, classic Mediterranean-themed pasta-based menu items, cool and fresh gazpacho, sea bass marinated in a special sauce, ragout, carbonara-topped risotto with prawns, and dessert items including tiramisu.

Zorbas Greek Restaurant offers four full courses of classically authentic Greek cuisine including appetizers such as roasted squid with sun-dried tomatoes, zucchini flowers & cream cheese, and main courses such as roasted goat, filet of sea bream, and pork gyros.

For you carnivores, Meat In restaurant serves sizzling rib eye, pork spare ribs and ground veal burgerswith all the trimmings. Try them with a side of fried potatoes with herbs or grilled veggies.

The Thalassa (Sea) Ouzeri Restaurant is for discerning lovers of sea food, Greek-style, in a large dining room with a panoramic view of the Sea of Crete. Menu items include the beloved Greek or horiatiki salad, fried squid with yogurt lemon dip, steamed mussels, and fried shrimp. Sip top shelf ouzo as you dine, and admire the cobalt-blue waters of the sea.

Nami (Japanese for ‘Wave’) features well-known authentic Asian fare including spring rolls, sweet and sour pork, chicken curry, and sushi, and some more exotic items like chicken tikka masala, gua bao au poulet, and wakame (seaweed) salad. Dessert items include ginger flavored cheesecake or passion fruit jelly with yuzu. Whatever suits your fancy is Asian dining, you’re likely to find it here.

Rounding out these excellent a la carte restaurants, the Umi Sushi Restaurant offers combo platters using such favorites as Alaska maki, vegetarian maki, spicy salmon, and unagi kabayaki roll, all prepared in an ultra-sanitary environment using fresh from the sea ingredients.

Snack Bars

Scattered throughout the resort grounds are six snack bars which make them convenient to reach wherever you are when you get the hankering for something quick and light to eat or drink.

La Pergola, at the poolside, serves buffet-style snacks and food, with a green and grilled lunch available from 12:30-14:30, and snacks both sweet and savoury, including ice cream, all day long and through the night until 6AM.

Kalypso specializes in kids’ fare. Its menu choices include waffles, crepes, a wide selection of ice cream, soft drinks, a variety of teas, fruits and juices. Hours are 10:00-17:30

Veranda is the place to go to enjoy incredible sunsets by the sea. Brunch choices include crispy thin crust pizza, French fries, soft drinks and wine and ice cold beer.

The Poseidon Bar is a fan favourite, its relaxed atmosphere making it the perfect place to meet friends old and new. Open from 10:30-17:30, it’s the perfect place to grab a hamburger, tortilla or sandwich accompanied by your favorite beer or soft drink.

The Nautilus Beach Bar’s location is ideal: right on the waterfront . Watch the tide come in as you chow down on a thick cheeseburger, hot dog, souvlaki or a light lunch with soft drinks and a variety of beers. Spend the day by the beautiful sea and enjoy.

Bars

You can imbibe to your heart’s delight in any one of Nana Golden Beach’s seven bars. Each bar has a unique ambience and serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

The Panorama and Athina lobby bars open in the afternoon and provide the ideal environment to wind down after your busy day at the resort as you sip the drink of your choice, socialize with family and friends, and enjoy the live music. The Panorama is the hotel’s main lobby bar and provides a convenient meeting point.

The Dolphin Pool Bar’s motto is “Fresh by the pool,” where you can enjoy soft drinks, beer, and brand-name mixed drinks as you gaze over the tranquil waters of the pool, or lean back and enjoy the warm Mediterranean starry nights.

The Anemos Idyllische Sunset Bar is the perfect place to enjoy the idyll of the refreshing evening sea breeze (Greek ‘anemos’) as the summer sun sinks to the horizon, magically changing the color and texture of the sea minute-by-minute as you sip your favorite locally-sourced cocktail, beer or soft drink.

The newly-opened Ammos (Greek for ‘Sand’) Beach Bar is, as its name implies, right on the beach. Take a break from your sunbathing or fun in the surf to enjoy a cold beer or other beverage in the shade as you gaze over the sand and sea.

The Sports Café Bar has several large-screen TVs where you can cheer on your favorite team while indulging in mixed drinks, beer soft drinks, or tea and coffee. The bar offers billiards as well for those who want to do more than just sit and watch.

For later in the evening, head over to the Dionysos Music Bar, open at 9PM. You only go around once, so dance the night away to the stylings of the bar’s in-house DJ and indulge in mixed drinks, cocktails, beer soft drinks, and even coffee and tea.

Spa and Wellness

The Nana Golden Beach Resort’s Royal Wellness Club has adopted the world-famous, state of the art Starpool wellness concept, an Italian-based system whose stated desire encapsulated in their motto: is “Making people feel better is all we want.”

The Royal Wellness Club offers Starpool’s steam bath with its glass façade and the Glamour Sauna Pro, inspired design by Cristiano Mino who took his inspiration from traditional Nordic culture administered by experienced, trained, skillful hands. The Relax Center has body contoured recliners and natural stone, cave-like walls.

There are massage beds where Germaine de Capuccini skin care products will be administered on one of four ecectric-powered massage beds. There are sun beds for those wishing to optimize their experience by resting after taking a dip in the indoor pool.

Activities

There are all kinds of things to do for those wishing to stay active at Nana Golden Beach, and in its environs.

A daily costumed animation program is organized for young and old alike by the hotel's animation team and evening performances take place in the two open-air amphitheaters. In the surrounding countryside there are all kinds of walking, running or cycling routes. You can sign up for a day cruise or extended yachting cruise to the Cycladic islands.

Pools and Beaches

There are several outdoor swimming pools, two small kids pools and the bigger Splash Pool, dedicated exclusively to children. In every pool area there is plenty of sunloungers, and a snack bar and a pool bar to indulge a little during your down time at the pool.

The main beach of Nana Golden has earned to coveted European Blue Flag. The bay the resort is built on acts as a windbreak, which keeps the waters relatively calm for the safety of small children. The beach is fully organized, with a lifeguard tower, plenty of sun loungers and beach umbrellas and two beach bars. There are also beautiful, secluded stone platform areas with hidden coves, ideal for sunbathers who prefers more privacy and tranquility.

For those who enjoy activity in the sun, there is a beach volleyball court, a water sports center and diving center on the beach.

The Water Sports Center, with licensed and experienced staff, offers exciting activities, such as fly boarding (a new water sport that uses water pressure to make you fly), jet ski, and windsurfing. A bonus for Nana Golden guests is the 30-min free everyday use of canoe & pedalo (paddle boat).

The Skubakreta Diving Center provides a great way to learn scuba diving basics and explore the underwater world of the Sea of Crete. Skubakreta is one of the best diving centers in Crete.

Fun for Kids

Nana Golden Beach was built for family fun. There are all kinds of activities designed to keep kids entertained and occupied.

The resort has a large open air children’s playground, two kids’ pools and children-only fun pool. For toddlers and infants every conceivable item and service for their needs are available, some coming with a minor extra charge.

As mentioned previously, the costumed animation team will help your children have a safe, unforgettable time during their stay, with a full program of fun activities. The children entertainment program will fill your young ones’ days with creative activities, with competitions, theme days and mini shows, games on the beach, magician evenings, movie nights, and T-shirt printing, as well as hours of free play in the children’s playground.

Water Park

The shiny new Nana Water Park provides aquatic fun for kids from eight to eighty. There are awesome slides and twisty rides.
