Traditional Cretan delicacies “Simandiraki”

The family-run business “SIMANDIRAKIS P. & Co” started operation in the field of traditional Cretan delicacies in the late 1980s.

The traditional and simultaneously unique way that Mrs. Eleftheria Simandiraki made the delicious “xerotigana”, “avgokalamara” and all sorts of Cretan dishes, made people look for them and the family to search a way to serve all those who wanted to enjoy this wonderful experience .

By word of mouth advertising for the unique quality products and impeccable service, the family business began to expand. The equipment has improved, the facilities grew and now a standard module with the latest standards, took the place of the old one.

Today the company is able to meet the needs of all social and family events in Greece in xerotigana and traditional Cretan dishes but always with the known quality and service. The major markets of Crete and Greece began to taste the company products, which, now, apart from the unique xerotigana has to present other traditional Cretan products such kalitsounakia, meat pies, cookies, fennel pies, breadsticks, and any other traditional Cretan product, according to the special needs and requirements of each customer.

Much has changed since the family's mother was making her favorite xerotigana in the kitchen of her house. That, however, has not changed, but was transferred to the family children, who have received the baton of the company, with the promise to continue with the same unparalleled quality and taste, but also with the moral obligation towards customers to keep products both delicious and pure, which made them popular to the old neighborhood.

The company SIMANDIRAKIS P. & Co. operates in the village of Kera in Chania Kastelli, has infrastructure owned facilities and product transportation vehicles, and is certified with quality system ISO 22000: 2005 and the signal "CRETE" from the agri-food partnership of Region of Crete.
